Teaching Assistant

Hours of work are 8.45am – 3.45pm

Mandeville School is an ‘Outstanding’ primary special school for pupils who have severe or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties; many of our pupils also have autism. Classes are organised on an age, need and learning style basis.
This role will require the successful candidate to deal with the medical needs of the child/children to which you are assigned this will include intimate care and administration of medicine and feeding.
The school is looking for someone who has:

A level 2 qualification in teaching and learning

Recent experience of employment as a teaching assistant working with pupils with Autism, Profound or Multiple Learning Difficulties or Severe Learning Difficulties
You will need to:

be a reflective and responsive teaching assistant who is committed to working with the children, their families and the community

be able to work in partnership with professionals from education, health and social care to ensure high quality provision for these pupils

be committed to supporting areas of the curriculum development and school approaches, undertaking training as appropriate
