Log Cabin

Mandeville School has a long association with the Log Cabin; the Director of Log Cabin is also a Governor at Mandeville School.

The Log Cabin is based in Northfields Avenue, W5. They offer a range of activities including after school club, Play2gether a holiday playscheme and Saturday club.

The After School Club offers integrated play for mainstream children and for children and young people with additional needs and disabilities in a new purpose-built building with an exciting playground including a multi-use games area for sports, play structures, sand and water play and accessible swings as well as quieter garden areas. Inside there is a large hall, soft-play room, arts and craft room, ICT games room, reading room and multi-sensory room.

Log Cabin minibuses collect children from special schools, and walking escorts collect children from local schools, and bring them to the After School Club, where they can engage in a wide variety of play activities suitable to the age and needs of each individual child.

Log Cabin can provide places for some children who require 1:1 support.

Play2gether The Log Cabin runs holiday playschemes at Mandeville school for children who attend the school.

The Log Cabin, in partnership with Mandeville School, provides playschemes during every school holiday. These are held at Mandeville school.

Activities include:

Holiday Playscheme: Holiday Playschemes run during the Easter and Summer school holidays and during the half term breaks.

Log Cabin can provide places for around 55 children and young people per day, including some children who require 1:1 care.

Children can participate in a wide range of activities (suitable to the age and needs of the children). We also take the children on trips to other local playgrounds, museums, parks, swimming etc.

Transport to and from the Playground can be provided where necessary for children with additional needs and disabilities whose parents or carers are unable to bring them.

Children must be registered in order to attend the Playschemes.

For parents and carers of children with additional needs, funding may be available from Social Services. Please contact your Social Worker to find out if you are eligible for short breaks provided by the Log Cabin.

Saturday Club: This service is for children and young people aged 4-15.
